Flowers, given another life.
This lightweight quilted cotton jacket has been eco-printed in India using roses and marigolds left over from temple offerings, the flowers described as the favourite flowers of the gods.
Rather than being discarded after their ceremonial use, the flowers are gathered and pressed against the cloth, allowing their natural pigments to leave soft, unpredictable traces across the fabric. Blush pinks, earthy browns and flashes of marigold yellow appear almost like watercolour, with every jacket carrying its own unique marks from the flowers used to make it.
There is something particularly beautiful about the journey of these flowers: grown and gathered, offered in devotion, and then given another life through cloth.
Lightly quilted rather than heavily padded, the jacket makes a beautiful trans-seasonal layer. The simple open neckline, patch pockets and softly structured shape keep it relaxed and easy to wear.
