Frequently Asked Questions

What size am I?

Size Hips Waist
Small 90cm - 100cm 70cm - 77cm (AU womens 8-10)
Medium 95cm - 105cm 75cm - 82cm (AU 12)
Large 100cm - 110cm 80cm - 89cm (AU 12-14)
XLarge 108cm - 118cm 90 - 97cm (AU 16-18)
XXLarge 115cm - 125cm 97cm - 105cm (AU 20-22)

If they you are in-between or cross over into more that one size, we always recommend to go up, it’s better to comfy and have longer lasting ,less stressed out seams and fabric.

For our underwear this above table is still a good guide.

For our t-shirts and jersey dresses, we keep the AU sizing the same.
Example; a medium t-shirt would be about a size AU12 (women’s).

What is the difference between cotton and merino?

Cotton is harder wearing and more forgiving when it comes to washing and drying. It is possible to machine wash our merino spandex blend but better to use a liquid detergent, also set on a gentle cycle and avoid putting in the dryer. These are our original Adventure Pants we have been making from 2010.

Firstly, Merino is more expensive as it’s grown off the back of a sheep (and not just any sheep, a Merino one!). 80% of the worlds merino is grown in Australia, but unfortunately due to the state of our manufacturing industry, it is spun onto cones for knitting into fabric offshore. Merino is wool and so can be a tasty food source for insects, so diligence is required to make sure they are not in your house! That said, we always like to darn up any holes that might appear for continued use and adventures. If you have trouble hand darning yourself any mishaps, we are happy to help, just get in touch shop@captainrobbo.com.

What about shipping?

We use regular tracked Post with Australia Post on all orders. You should receive a tracking number when your order has been shipped. International orders are welcome and we will ship anywhere in the world for $25

Where is your shop and what are the hours?

We are at 340 High St. Northcote VIC, 3070, and currently open from 11am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

In December we are also open Sundays 12-4pm.

Where are you products made?

Everything we sell on this website is produced in Melbourne, Australia. We are having our fabrics made here, where possible, which means they are also dyed and finished in Melbourne. Fabrics are produced and then cut into panels, we screen print onto these panels, and have them made locally.

Who designs the prints?

Katy Robinson AKA Captain Robbo designs all the prints, usually by hand drawing and then scaling into larger artworks ready to print and repeat.

What if I choose the wrong size or want a different pair, or they don’t suit me?

Please refer to our returns policy here. We are happy to swap for any reason, as long as they are in a new condition.
