Chaplin Pants

A little bit grandad, a little bit Chaplin, and ridiculously comfortable.

These are the pants we wanted when we couldn't find them anywhere else.

Cut from beautifully butter-soft black cotton drill with just 2% spandex, our Chaplin Pants have the substance and durability of a proper drill trouser, but with enough stretch to make them extraordinarily comfortable. They're the kind of pants you put on and immediately feel at home in.

The shape is deliberately relaxed — slightly baggy through the hips, with front pleats, a straight leg and small turned cuffs. There’s something charmingly old-fashioned about the silhouette, and it feels like a refreshing change from the barrel-leg shapes currently everywhere.

Then there are the details you discover later. A Dianella, or Flax Lily, is embroidered in black-on-black thread on the back pocket, almost disappearing into the fabric. Inside the waistband is another little secret: a flash of upcycled silk, making use of beautiful remnants where they might otherwise go unseen.

With practical pockets, belt loops and that wonderfully soft fabric, these are pants designed to be lived in — comfortable enough for every day, smart enough to dress up, and sturdy enough to get better with wear.

Used for woven garments. The ones that have less or no stretch in the fabric.
