Description
Description
Leland Blue is relatively rare because it is a byproduct of slag, glass-like material created during the iron smelting process in the 19th century. This process took place in Leland, Michigan, where the stone gets its name. Since the smelting operations ceased long ago, the supply of Leland Blue is finite, making it increasingly difficult to find, especially in large or high-quality pieces. Its unique origin and distinctive colours, ranging from light blue to deep teal, contribute to its rarity and appeal.
These sterling silver hook earrings feature oval-cut Blue Leland stones, known as a stone of transformation and resilience. A perfect combination of timeless design with meaningful history and symbolism.
