There is a lot to talk about with this dress! Captain Robbo has in her collection of things a map of Port Phillip Bay from 1973, making it over 50 years old. To throw a party for the map, we made a copy of it and blew it up to 2m wide, and made a complete dress out of each one, with no offcuts at all. So potentially this dress could be used for navigating out to the Bass Straight, if in need. Nothing is repeated on the dress. The map was used all the way into the 90s (this detail is in handwriting on the collar), it has lots of signs of use with crossed out rifle ranges in Altona and other navigational notes of interest.
It’s made from a super lightweight cotton voile. It’s a dreamy light number to wear and ready for dancing.
