This is an original cyanotype (not a scanned copy) from a body of work created in my time as a Float resident artist on Lake Tyers in September 2024. It was a truely amazing experience to spend time on the Lake observing the environment in this setting and connecting with the landscape and the animals. After a big storm while I was staying on Float, I collected some of the struck down branches of coastal wattle to make this and the cyanotype. It was toned with collected plants with PH shifting qualities to give it extra depth. I particularly love the brushstrokes of the blue next to the perfect forms of the branch. The condition of the branch after the storm certainly brings more drama to the print.
