Welcome to Captain Robbo! By purchasing
you are supporting both independent design and Australian manufacturing.
Captain Robbo acknowledges that we live, work and create on what always was and always will be the Wurundjeri lands of the Kulin nations. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, as well as the wider community and beyond.
Since 2010 Adventure Pants have been known for their comfort, durability and original prints. They are best worn with a pinch of irreverence to fashion, and a splash of self-empowerment…
“Captain Robbo is committed to Australian made, natural fabrics. Every print tells a story. We print limited edition batches of leggings and other locally made goodies. Everything is created in Northcote with a lot of local love, banter and great tunes."
With a strong focus on natural fibres, we have the privilege of working with our local knitting mill to produce our own high quality fabric in our own colours.
Adventure Pants and all our other clothing on this website are hand printed by the Captain and her team in the studio at 340 High St, Northcote, Victoria, Australia. All products from start to finish are made locally in Melbourne. Our offcuts are now used completely for underpants, masks and more.
Our Adventure
“Captain Robbo” as a persona was created somewhere in the midst of working in textile screen-printing factories and hand making hats. I have worked with Melbourne designers, artists and milliners following a solid few years of studying visual art printmaking and fashion at Kangan Tafe, RMIT and SCU. I started making 'adventure pants' after experimenting with pairs for myself, and started to explore different print ideas and options. Somewhere in that moment of exploration adventure pants were born! Each print has it's own story to tell, and when they are worn it creates another layer of life.
To speak to the name - its just me! Way back when I was studying printmaking in the early 2000s I earned the nicknamed Robbo from my last name, Robinson. ‘Captain' comes in with the desire to be self-directed (with an excellent crew) and also a love for all things related to sailing. To be captain of my own ship, taking adventure pants all over the world, is the original dream, which is now, I’m very privileged to say - the reality. Katy xx
