Sunset Japanese Maple leaves

$ 90.00

New print for 2018 – this design is taken from a ‘found object’, which makes it a favourite of the Captain, because who doesn’t love a good story..

Katagami paper is Japanese stencil paper made from Mulberry leaves, and was one of the first silk screens. It was used between 100-150 years ago until the paper was not made anymore. The paper with this Maple leaf design was purchased at a flea market in Collingwood. It was originally found in an abandoned kimono printing factory in Kyoto, Japan. It was printed in a sunset blend of red, pink, white and yellow with our special bleaching inks..

Printed on our 220gsm Melbourne made cotton spandex, these will wear and last many years to come.

Fabric content 90% cotton 10% spandex.

100% Made in Melbourne.
